Klub Vittula - go underground

You are in front of the shiny New York Palace (Boscolo Hotel) building, close to Blaha Lujza square. Go further back, and turn left in Kertész utca. Before, you can buy cigarettes in one of the shops, then after 5 metres if you forgot something, you can enter in the next 24 hour shop for a beer, or an ananas.
Now you are ready to enter underground. Find the red door (which in the dark looks actually pretty black) of Vittula, mind the step and sometimes the candles and press enter.

Before checking it, press some enters also on Vittula's homepage, it is quite a virtual punky playground. http://www.vittula.hu, more or less like the place itself. It is a little 80es, at first sight very Irish pub, a little contemporary art here and there, some second hand stuff around. You feel it very underground, hidden, you feel the joy of having discovered something very special and yet from the many foreigners in the tiny place you can guess that  Vittula is in every guiding book around the world.

There are few tables but you are never uncomfy, there is only one toilet but there is never  a long line, there is no dance floor but we always start dancing. My friend put it the other time good, that "you feel here like you are part of something". You make a few steps to the right and left, you slip your beer, you talk a little Hungarian or a little English, hang around - like the others, without a hurry. Clubbing - one of the few places where it is still possible in Budapest.

  1. Are you paying more than $5 for each pack of cigs? I'm buying my cigs from Duty Free Depot and I'm saving over 50%.
