There is a place in Budapest which i really like. A good friend took me there after school, and ever since then we have never stopped going there - before school, after school and instead of school - until it eventually became one of our favourite hangout places in all of Budapest.
Well, I dont really know what it is that makes a bar the perfect hangout, but to me Kino Cinema and Cafe has it all to be one of the best hangouts in town.

Kino Cafe is located next to Víg theatre on Szent István avenue on the Pest side of Budapest. The Cafe is one of the 10 art cinemas in Budapest. Kino Café and Cinema offers programs for independent movie lovers, film- clubs, screenings and other art performances to fulfill the needs of those who like too see something other than the Hollywood blockbusters played over and over again in the city’s multiplexes.
As you enter the Kino all you will see is the café area, only the latest independent movie posters everywhere on the walls suggest a connection with the movie world. The cinema itself is secretly hidden behind a back door, so if you don't catch people coming out from a screening you would hardly realize that you are actually sitting in a cinema lobby.
What I mostly like about the Kino Cafe is that you can easily feel at home there, the staff are very friendly and kind, the music is never too loud to ruin your conversation, and i like the fact that i can buy a glass of beer and a movie ticket at the same counter and even bring my beer into the screening. The coffee counter also displays a range of delicious homemade cakes and tartes baked right in the Cafe. I usually go for the tarts with mascarpone, like cranberry or banana tart, but the fully loaded chocolate cake and the carrot cake are also worth a try.
For early-risers the café offers a breakfast selection from 9 am until 12 am, and for those who visit the place at lunch time, freshly prepared sandwiches are available including: baguettes with tuna and spinach or baguettes with dried tomatoes and a special hungarian cottage cheese.
Kino cinema and cafe is definitly a nice place to drop by and has a lot to offer. I would recommend this place for those who would like to have a proper breakfast on a lazy morning but it is also a good choice if you want to see a movie, stay afterwards and discuss it with your friends over a glass of wine. It is an ideal place for those who are looking for a friendly place to have a milkshake with their boy/girlfriends or just for those who want to celebrate the first glimpses of the sun and get rid of this winter doldrum.
