urban geocache - art nouveau treasure hunt
Treasure hunting is cooler than ever - pirates, adventurers and small children have been venturing day by day on new quests in search of that pot of gold, that secret ingredient or the favorite chocolate of theirs. The 21st century hype, the Geogaching games have revived the excitement of the true outdoor treasure hunts' excitement.

Art Nouveau is a cool  thing, we could even say, it is fashionable, "in", - who is not in love with Klimt's or Mucha's picture, and who would not let out some deep sighs seeing the Sagrada Familia in Barcelona? We let out a few tiny sighs daily here in Budapest since the city is dotted by buildings of this epoch, built by architect-masters like Ödön Lechner or Emil Vidor. Important town buildings' windows and roofs are masterpieces of Miksa RóthImperial and Royal court glass stainer artist.  Have you heard of these noble man? I know, our names are always terribly difficult to pronounce… However, it is very much worth discovering their work and admiring the buildings.

Now you can find out more about our gorgeous Art Nouveau buildings, and have a glimpse behind their stories while strolling along hunting for treasure boxes. We have created a “Geocache light” game – besides the GPS coordinates, we also provided the directions and the opening ours of the 10 given places. The Treasure Chests are quite big, but all the more beautiful, you will see for yourselves when you find one. In the box you’ll find a guestbook, a description of the past of the building and a small gift: the point of the game being that you exchange a small souvenir you bring along for what you chance upon in the chest.

The treasure hunt is on from June 11 till the end of October.

We wish you a lot of fun!
